Which trails are open
A forest fire broke out on 22 September 2026 near Bukit Setampol, on the Torean side. By 26 September it had burned 977.74 ha, and both northern trails were shut. Senaru reopened on 3 October. Torean was not on that day’s list of operating trails, and we found no later report of it reopening.
| Trail | Regency | Fee class | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sembalun1 | East Lombok | 1 | Operating |
| Senaru1 | North Lombok | 1 | Reopened 3 Oct after the fire closure |
| Torean1 | North Lombok | 1 | Not on the operating list (closed since the September fire) |
| Timbanuh2 | East Lombok | 2 | Operating |
| Tetebatu2 | East Lombok | 2 | Operating |
| Aik Berik2 | Central Lombok | 2 | Operating |
Tip. If you booked Senaru before the fire, the park let ticket holders move the date or switch to Sembalun.
Park fees by trail class
| Trail class | Foreign visitor | Indonesian, weekday | Indonesian, holiday | Student group (min. 5) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Class 1: Sembalun, Senaru, Torean | Rp 250,000 | Rp 50,000 | Rp 75,000 | Rp 25,000 |
| Class 2: Timbanuh, Tetebatu, Aik Berik | Rp 200,000 | Rp 20,000 | Rp 30,000 | Rp 10,000 |
| Class 3: 21 non-trekking sites | Rp 150,000 | Rp 10,000 | Rp 15,000 | Rp 5,000 |
Each trail sits in a price class. Senaru, Sembalun and Torean are Class 1. Timbanuh, Tetebatu and Aik Berik are Class 2. Class 3 covers 21 non-trekking sites in the park.
Tip. For a foreign trekker, a southern trail costs Rp 50,000 per day less than Senaru or Sembalun. Its quota is also smaller, so it can be quieter.
The new fees
| Item | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Entry, per day (Senaru, Sembalun, Torean) | Rp 150,000 | Rp 250,000 |
| Insurance | Rp 200,000 charged with entry | Not stated in the tariff report (unconfirmed) |
| Porter, per day | Not regulated | Not regulated; usually Rp 175,000–250,000 |
Before the change, foreign trekkers paid a separate Rp 200,000 insurance charge. The November 2025 tariff report does not list an insurance amount. An English translation of the operators’ SOP, published by an operator, says premium insurance is compulsory from 2026. We could not confirm the amount from the park. The cost page lists it with the other extras.
How booking works
- App. Bookings go through the eRinjani mobile app (Android and iOS).
- Who books. Usually your trekking operator, who adds the guide and porters.
- erinjani.id. A private business selling packages, not the park.
- Fire season. From 1 September 2026 new online bookings were suspended until the fire risk passed. Tickets paid before that date stayed valid.

During that closure, non-trekking spots around Sembalun stayed open, including Savana Propok, Bukit Gedong and Top Kondo. The 2026–27 dates had not been announced by 21 October 2026. The 2026 closure was announced on 20–22 December 2025, so watch for news from mid-December.
